What's wrong with my boyfriend?

for several weeks now he's been all quiet, hasnt wanted to have , doesnt want to kiss me or even hug me. He says there's something wrong but wont tell me what it is. he says he's stressed out because of college but i think it's more than that. He came up to my room just before and wouldnt really talk to me. i started crying and he was like "it's weird that you're the one crying" and hugged me and then was like "i've got enough on my plate without you having break downs". I told him i was scared he was going to dump me and he was like "of course not, you know i love you". What's going on?
