Electricians, what do you use to trace circuit conductors?

i know a tone generator is used for low voltage telecomm, but is there something like that for electrical conductors? i know about the stupid breaker locater, i need something i can use for live electrical wires, where i can separate one wire from 20+ other wires in a control application. they are all either 24vdc or 120vac.
